What accomplishment in your career are you most proud of?
The accomplishments in my career that I am most proud of, are the ones I had to work hardest for and challenged me the most. The first product I launched as a product manager, Jabber IM for BlackBerry, really challenged me. Not only was I learning to be a product manager, I had to learn the BlackBerry Operating System and BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The platform was quite challenging to understand and at that time in 2011, there were not that many apps to compare to. This product was the first mobile instant messaging application from Cisco and help set the stage for the rest of my career.
Why do you think it is important to build community within tech?
"Tech is an ever evolving, fast paced industry. There is also a lot of capital and investment in this space. Not only can we grow and learn from each other, but we can also ban together to help push causes that can benefit our community. Through my involvement with my Pan-Asian employee resource group, PayPal Rise, we have been able to build community not only within our company but with other companies as well to address the violence against the AAPI community as well as help with Covid-19 relief efforts globally through donations and fundraisers."
