What inspired you to start your own company?
It all started from a personal experience. I am a very curious person and try to stay on the trend. As you may know, the internet is a marketplace for everything from Bitcoin to pet subscription boxes. I like skincare products; simple and functional products are part of my self-care routine. I came across a beauty brand that caught my eye and at first was hyped, but it ended up not working for me. I got frustrated, so I started building my own platform. Given all the technology and resources, I knew this was it. I know I am not alone in searching beauty products that work best FOR ME. I wanted to build a platform for NOT ONLY WOMEN, but for MEN TOO.
Do you have a tech background?
Yes, I majored in Information Systems.
Biggest lesson you have learned so far starting your business?
The biggest lesson so far is keeping it simple. I can get so excited and overwhelmed, especially being a solo founder.
Have you felt supported by your Filipinx Community?
Yes, I really love lifting up the community and representing more of what Filipinos are about.
What advice do you have for other Filipinx that want to follow a similar career path?
My advice is to be creative and be unconventional, you’ll be surprised.
